In 19th-century Vienna, Dr. Josef Breuer (Ben Cross)
and his protégé Sigmund Freud (Jamie Elman) employ a new method of
"talk therapy" on a penniless, depressed philosopher named Friedrich
Nietzsche (Armand Assante). Based on the award-winning novel by
psychotherapist Irvin D. Yalom, the romantic drama explores the gripping
stories behind these influential men, as well as the women who shaped
their lives.
