Was part of the original 1968 cast of the hit Off-Broadway play, "The Boys in the Band." In it, he played Alan, the married man who serves as the main catalyst in the play. Peter and the entire company transferred their roles brilliantly to the 1970 film version.American actor known for his clean-cut Ivy League look and prematurely gray hair whose early career was comprised almost entirely of legitimate Theatre and Daytime soap work. One heartfelt role was playing Linc Tyler on and off for over thirty years on "All My Children" (1970).
Later moved from Daytime to Primetime Television work and then on to major Feature Film projects including "Mother", "Dave", "Thirteen Days", etc.) playing scores of buttoned down executive and politicos, both honorable and deceptively unscrupulous.
Co-starred in the original Broadway production of James Kirkwood's "P.S. Your Cat is Dead".
Co-Founder and member of the New York Actor's Theatre, Off-Broadway production of Brecht's "Galileo" in 1979.
Attended the Yale School of Drama (1959-1962) and received M.F.A.
Attended Northwestern University (1955-1959) and received a Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Communications.
