Trial of the Moke
In 1881, Lt. Henry
Ossian Flipper (Franklyn Seales), the first African-American man to
graduate from West Point, went on trial for embezzlement, a crime he
didn't commit. Desperate to prove his innocence, Flipper finds that he
has little chance of clearing his name. Alfre Woodard, Samuel L. Jackson
and Howard E. Rollins Jr. co-star in this performance of Daniel Stein's
fact-based play, filmed in 1978 at the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre.
