I've been considering this 2 BR, 2 Bath, 2 Car Garage Log Home in Taylor, AZ. However upon closer view and consideration I see that the Logs may have issues (Cracks) and the Baseboard Electric Heat could prove to be too expensive to run. There is a Wood Stove in the Downstairs area but then there are NO trees around. So I'd have to buy firewood by the cord (not cheap either). The house is 1954 Sqft on 2.39 Acres, fully fenced. Electric and phone lines, and I assume gas (if you wanted it, don't know for sure) are all underground. The best Internet DSL 6mbps from Fronteir Comm. is NOT enough. So Satellite is required. There is Garbage Collection and septic system is installed. Water is Metered City Water.
I really like the House but the Cracked Timbers and the Heating System have put me off to it. Also I would like more acreage. I think I've talked myself into passing on this one.
The search continues. 20-40 Acres. Stay away from LOG HOMES. Maybe Fake Log. I like the Cathedral Ceilings and Great Room Design, but I want a big Fire Place and a better Heating System.
