50 Years Ago This Week: Woodstock 69

Yasgur's Farm

Heading To Yasgur's Farm

Woodstock Promoter (With Butt)
Fifty years ago this week, hundreds of thousands of festival goers descended on a farm in Bethel, New York, for one of the defining episodes in American counterculture history: Woodstock.

It was the Summer of 1969 and my mother was taking Summer Classes at Columbia so us Kids got to roam NYC by ourselves. We didn't go up to Woodstock but we did see Plays and go to The David Frost Show ( Sat in the front Row too so if you see any of those we will be on TV because they panned the audience). That too was the summer Armstrong walked on the Moon. They set up a big screen on Sixth Ave as I recall. We watched it there. How times have changed.

Today you take your life into your hands if you wander NYC alone as kids. Predators, theives, and general scum walk the streets too. The Current Mayor, Di Blasio (Commonly Called Comrade Di Blasshole) has let the City return to squalor with homeless scum stinking it up with needles and human waste.

Glad I'm not there anymore.
